Norway offers plenty of spectacular natural experiences – and Bordalsgjelet is a very special and accessible one.



The short and easy hike through Bordalsgjelet starts on a dirt road along Vangsvatnet and takes you over the bridge over the Vosso river and further into the impressive gorge.



Here, the forces of nature are felt at close quarters as water gushes between dark rocks and through giant potholes created by ice and rivers over millennia.



The path is well maintained and the walk is around 5 km long. Along the way, take a rest on one of the area's benches and be sure to take advantage of the many viewpoints – each one offers a new fascinating view of the beautiful area.

Not far from  Voss town centre, you can enjoy a unique nature experience: the Bordalsgjelet is a spectacular mountain canyon created by the impressive forces of nature.

Located in the heart of Fjord Norway, Voss, the largest ski area in the West, offers fantastic skiing experiences for both experienced and novice skiers, passionate mountaineers and cross–country enthusiasts alike – and with an average of 540 cm of snow per year, you are guaranteed a perfect white setting for your skiing experience.

There's plenty of room to roam, more than 40km of well–groomed alpine slopes covering every level of difficulty from gentle hills for the less experienced to SuperG and international large slalom areas for those who want more speed and excitement.

The terrain park can give family adventurers a real adrenaline rush as they tackle rails, kickers and big jumps, and the little ones can romp around Voss' children's areas – and maybe be lucky enough to meet the local troll Grebbe Hangur.

With 18 kilometres of family–friendly cross–country ski trails, there's also plenty of opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity of the forest or the wide open spaces as the day's family outing takes you over the high mountains.
