Practical information regarding changes to the sailing schedule for winter / spring 2023

Due to the energy crisis in Europe and the very high gas prices, Fjord Line will rebuild its two ships, which are currently powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). The conversion means that the ships will be able to switch between LNG and MGO as fuel, so that we ensure economically sustainable operation also in the period until LNG prices normalize.

The rebuilding plan means that we will not be able to maintain a regular route offer on the routes Hirtshals – Stavanger – Bergen and Hirtshals – Langesund in winter/spring 2023. We deeply apologize to all affected customers. You can read more in our press release here.

The routes Sandefjord – Strømstad and Hirtshals – Kristiansand are not affected by the changes.

All travelers will be continuously contacted by customer service.

The route Hirtshals – Stavanger – Bergen

There are no changes to the route until January 4.

In the period from 5 January to 7 February inclusive, the ship sails with a somewhat extended crossing time. This will lead to the following changes in departure and arrival times:

Monday and Wednesday depatures from Bergen: 3 pm

Friday departure from Bergen: 3 pm

Departures from Hirtshals 8 pm

 

Travelers on a cruise Hirtshals – Bergen in the same period:

You can continue to travel on a cruise during the above period.

In the period from 9 February to 25 May, all crossings are regrettably cancelled. (On February 8, the last ship from Stavanger leaves for Bergen, arriving at 2 pm).

From Friday 26 May, the route Hirtshals – Stavanger – Bergen runs as usual, but with fewer departures, so there may be changes for travelers (you will be contacted with any changes).

From June 17, all ships run as normal.

All travelers can choose between:
• to have the tickets refunded
• to rebook for later departures in 2023 (it may happen that the new departure is more expensive due to high season, but there will be no change fees).

Have you bought Black Friday tickets? Then, if desired, these can be rebooked with a travel period from Sunday 15 October until 23 November 2023.

The Route Hirtshals – Langesund

In the period 5 January to 25 May, all crossings are regrettably canceled (last departure is 04.01)

Remember that from 31 March we sail Hirtshals – Kristiansand as usual.

From Friday 26 May, the route Hirtshals – Langesund runs as usual, but with fewer departures, so there may be changes for travelers (you will be contacted with any changes).

From June 17, all ships run as normal.

All travelers can choose between:
• to have the tickets refunded
