Check-in

  • Please arrive at least 60 minutes before departure.
  • Please board at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

We reserve the right to refuse passengers who are late for check-in. Refunds will not be given to passengers who arrive late.

You need valid travel documents and ID.

All passengers over 18 years of age must bring valid identification – either a passport, driving license or bank card with a photo. The name on the ID must correspond with the name on the ticket. Foreign citizens living in Norway must show their passports and possibly a visa issued for travel in the Nordic Region. Citizens from countries outside the EU/EEA must meet the requirements of the destination country on passports, visas, vaccinations, etc. and are encouraged to find out the respective authorities’ applicable rules.

Passengers are responsible for obtaining the required travel documents. Failure to produce travel documents will be considered the same as a no-show, and the ticket will not be refunded. You are responsible for covering the costs of return travel etc. if an entry permit is declined in the destination country, for example because of your failure to produce travel documents, a passport or ID.

Vehicles should bear the international vehicle registration code. You should have your travel insurance documentation with you.

As a general rule, check-in opens 2 hours before boarding. The actual boarding process (when you need to be present) begins one hour before departure.

If you are travelling on foot, please head to the terminal for check-in. If you are travelling with a vehicle, please go to the car booth. For group travel, check-in arrangements should be clarified during the booking process, as there may be variations from port to port.
Check-in can only be done on the day of the journey. There is no advance check-in option.
