The corona pandemic has had a strong impact on Fjord Line. Now, further measures are being initiated to ensure that the company emerges from the crisis as a powerful and viable shipping company.

Fjord Line is preparing for the long-term effects of the coronavirus. Although liquidity has been secured, the company is now instituting major cost-cutting measures.

Fjord Line today announces its intention to reflag one of its four vessels from the Danish DIS register to the Norwegian NOR register. 

Fjord Line’s brand new high-speed catamaran ferry, Fjord FSTR, has been launched from Austal Limited’s shipyard on the Philippines. The ship will replace HSC Fjord Cat for the route between Kristiansand and Hirtshals, and will double the capacity of the fastest route between Norway and Denmark.

After a period in dock MS Stavanger returns to its schedule between Danmark and Norway. The first thing guests will notice is a new lounge area and three shiny green funnels, highlighting the company’s environmental profile.

The Norwegian shipping company has great ambitions for further growth. They see the lot at Vindal as the perfect place to develop a cruise product for the future.

After three years of solid growth on the route between Kristiansand (Norway) and Hirtshals (Denmark), the Norwegian shipping company Fjord Line invests in a new high speed catamaran ferry. The investment will improve the Fjord Line offerings in regard of higher capacity, increased comfort, more departures and a stretched sailing season compared to the present service.
