Canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding

With kilometre after kilometre of roaring rivers, idyllic fjords and beautiful mountain lakes, Norway is a favourite destination for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding enthusiasts. Most places offer canoes, kayaks and paddle boards for hire, if you don’t want to bring your own – so you can just enjoy the idyllic outing on the water with Norway’s incredible nature all around you.

Adventure tip

If you’re looking for a more action-packed experience, you’ll have the chance to go river rafting on the roaring Norwegian rivers.

Golfing holiday

If you’re able to get in a round of golf or two, you’ll find some absolutely spectacular golf courses in Norway. Many of Norway’s golf courses integrate the surrounding natural hazards – lakes and beaches, cliffs and forests – and as a bonus you’ll often get completely unique views of the mountain landscapes, fjords, forests and coastlines. Enjoy a tour of the mountain courses in Telemark and Fjord Norway – or perhaps a round of golf under the midnight sun at Lofoten?

Cycling holiday

Norway offers a wealth of beautiful cycle routes, where you can cycle along fjords, through enchanting forests and over majestic mountains. On the way, you can stay in small communities and historic locations or enjoy your packed lunch beside a roaring river.

Norway’s most famous cycle path is Rallarvegen near Voss and Flåm in Fjord Norway, but Telemark and Southern Norway also offers many fantastic cycle routes, whether you’re on a mountain bike or ordinary road bike. Many hotels and holiday centres offer bikes to rent for one or more days, if you don’t want to take your own on the ferry.

Motorcycle holiday

Many people call Norway “Europe’s ultimate biker paradise” and for very good reason! Here you’ll be able to enjoy 2,000 kilometres of panoramic roads, taking you through the country’s most beautiful national parks – and in general you’ll be rewarded with views of the snowy mountain roads that pass by waterfalls, blue fjords, over steep cliffs and through lush green coniferous forests.
