Dog sledding at Sirdal Huskyfarm

One of Sirdal's popular activities is a visit to Sirdal Husky Farm. Here you can get up close to the happy, charming dogs, try a sledge ride over the mountain or go on a "hike in the mountains with huskies", where the dogs carry equipment and packed lunches on your trip to one of the area's beautiful mountain peaks.

The whole family is guaranteed a fantastic experience in the company of the site's 40 unique – and enormously friendly – sled dogs.
You can choose to just visit the husky farm and get a tour and meet the dogs – but the real experience awaits you if you book a sled dog tour, where you (after a short instruction) get to drive your own dog sledge through the beautiful mountain landscape!
You might be lucky enough to see some of the area's wildlife – Sirdal is home to Europe's southernmost herd of wild reindeer and is part of Norway's second largest nature reserve.
Trips of varying lengths are available – from a three–hour trip through the forest to multi–day trips where you'll feel the authentic atmosphere as you explore the mountains on your dog sled and stay overnight in a historic log cabin.
Sirdal Husky Farm recommends ending your visit with a trip to their outdoor Wilderness Spa and sauna under the stars.
