Vrådal Panorama's 50 cabins form a charming holiday area with a mix of holiday apartments all built in norwegian cabin style and with spectacular views over Vrådal.

The cabins are privately owned and hence individually fitted out, but what they have in common is that they are arranged with a combined kitchen/living room with an area for dining and a sofa niche, and have at a minimum one bath and toilet. ”Up in the mountains, in the middle of town” – this is how the location of Vrådal Holiday Flats is often described. The earlier hotel was renovated and rebuilt a few years ago, so that it now contains 28 new and modern holiday flats with room for 2-8 persons. The flats are quite suitable for couples and families, but are absolutely perfect for group trips such as couples who are friends or families holding their holidays together, since there are possibilities to rent shared areas such as a kitchen, dining area and room with a fireplace, where the whole group can gather together and relax.

Every flat has its own kitchen, bath and toilet as well as 1-2 bedrooms with double beds and bunk beds. The Straand Hotel is located several hundred metres away, where you have free access to the lovely indoor swimming pool. You can also visit the restaurant here if the cook along on your holiday wants an evening off.

The flats have a view over the largest lake in Telemark, Nisser, and beckoning only a few hundred metres away are the area's well laid out and marked hiking paths and bicycling routes, the vintage boat M/S Fram, Straand Sommerland, child-friendly bathing beach, golf and recreational fishing. The family-owned hotel offers 125 comfortable and excellently fitted-out rooms, ranging from single rooms to family rooms and to demi suites and rooms in a traditional style. The ”old” part of the hotel offers a host of charming common areas with wooden walls, traditional Norwegian furniture and collector's objects, which together provide the hotel with a completely special atmosphere.

At the Straand Hotel, the guests are always at the centre and the personnel make your experience a treat, whether it is in the restaurant, dance floor area, piano bar, pub, banquet hall or the old coffee rooms. And if your day starts best with a good round of exercise, you naturally have access to the hotel's heated pool, sauna and fitness area.

One of Vrådal's most popular activities is the top hike to Venelifjell, a beautiful outdoor experience for the whole family. The four–km walk up the mountain – whose name means "The Beautiful Mountain" – starts on landscaped bridges over marshland and then crosses rocky ground to the idyllic lake Venelitjørni. Here you can try your luck with a fishing rod or take a refreshing dip before continuing the last few metres to the top of the 904–metre–high mountain. In clear weather, you can enjoy your packed lunch to a fantastic view, where you can see all the way to the coastal town of Kragerø, the high mountain plateau of Hardangervidda – and not least the spectacular and famous mountain Gaustatoppen.
