Sirdal Mountain Museum

Take a trip back in time in Sirdal Mountain Museum – feel the wings of history among the more than 200–year–old houses.

At the idyllic Sirdal Mountain Museum, you can experience first–hand how people lived on the mountain hundreds of years ago. The museum includes ayouth house, a schoolhouse, a single–storey building and a hunting lodge, and the oldest building dates back to the 1770s.

The exhibitions will give you an insight into what it has been like to live and work in Sirdal for several generations. In addition, you can try your hand at all the tasks that had to be carried out on a farm in the 19th century – by hand, of course.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, there are regular special exhibitions, concerts and events, and it is also possible to watch short films about the history of the area in the main building.
